Should Your Studio Be on TikTok?

TikTok strategy for fitness studios. What works, what doesn't, and whether it is worth your time.

By Koryn Barrett— Founder & Marketing Director, Kollabo

TikTok has massive reach but questionable conversion for local businesses. Here is an honest assessment.

When TikTok works

  • You have a visually interesting modality (aerial yoga, reformer Pilates, boxing)
  • Your instructors are natural on camera
  • You are targeting a younger (18–35) demographic
  • You treat it as brand awareness, not direct conversion

When it doesn't

  • Your target member is 40+ (they are on Instagram and Google, not TikTok)
  • You expect immediate bookings from TikTok views (the conversion funnel is long)
  • You do not have time — TikTok requires 3–5 posts/week minimum to get traction

The verdict

Instagram first. Always. TikTok second, if you have the content capacity. Google Business Profile third — it is free and drives direct local bookings.
