How to Use Email Marketing for Your Fitness Studio

Email marketing strategies for studios. Welcome sequences, re-engagement, promotions, and what to send when.

By Koryn Barrett— Founder & Marketing Director, Kollabo

Email is not dead — it is the highest-ROI marketing channel for studios. Every email you send costs essentially nothing and lands directly in your member's inbox.

The emails every studio should send

  • Welcome sequence (days 1, 3, 7, 14) — onboarding, tips, class recommendations
  • Class reminder — 24h and 2h before class
  • Pack expiry — 2 weeks and 3 days before a pack expires
  • Re-engagement — 14 days no attendance triggers "we miss you"
  • Monthly newsletter — schedule highlights, new classes, challenges, community wins

What NOT to send

  • Daily promotional emails — this is spam
  • Generic marketing blasts — segment by membership type, attendance, and engagement
  • Long emails — studio emails should be 3–5 sentences with one clear CTA
