How to Prepare Your Studio for the Summer Rush

Planning guide for the summer peak season. Scheduling, staffing, promotions, and capacity management.

By Koryn Barrett— Founder & Marketing Director, Kollabo

Summer is make-or-break for many studios. The New Year resolution crowd arrives in January, outdoor programming opens up, and class demand shifts dramatically. Here is how to prepare.

Schedule changes

Add early morning and outdoor classes. Consider reducing midday sessions. Look at last summer's data — which time slots filled, which emptied?

Staffing

Hire casual instructors now for the January surge. Train them in December so they are ready for the busiest month.

Intro offers

Launch a summer-specific intro pack — "Summer Starter: 5 classes for $59" or "January Unlimited: $49 for the month." Set it live in your app by December 15.

Capacity management

Popular classes will fill instantly. Enable waitlists on all peak-time classes. Consider adding a second session if a class consistently maxes out.

Outdoor programming

If you can run outdoor classes, add them to the schedule. Beach, park, and rooftop sessions drive new member discovery and social media content.

KOLLABO OS handles outdoor scheduling, intro pack sales, waitlists, and seasonal staffing. Get ready for summer
