How to Create Membership Tiers for Your Fitness Studio

Guide to structuring membership tiers. Pricing, inclusions, upselling, and what works in boutique fitness.

By Koryn Barrett— Founder & Marketing Director, Kollabo

The right membership structure maximises revenue per member while giving everyone an option that fits their budget and usage.

The three-tier model

  • Basic — 2x/week or 8 classes/month. For members who come occasionally. Priced at 60% of unlimited.
  • Standard — unlimited classes. Your core offering. This is where most members should land.
  • Premium — unlimited classes + perks (priority booking, guest passes, retail discounts, free workshops). Priced at 120–130% of Standard.

Pricing psychology

The middle tier should be the obvious best value. Make Basic feel restrictive enough that members upgrade. Make Premium feel aspirational with tangible perks.

Upselling path

Start new members on an intro pack → convert to Basic → upgrade to Standard after 2–3 months. The upgrade should be easy — one tap in the app.

KOLLABO OS handles unlimited tiers, usage caps, upgrades, and downgrades seamlessly. Members see their plan and can upgrade in the app. Try it
